We have all 50!

The shout rang from the boy getting the mail today, "We got number 50!"

Vermont arrived in the mail today. Michigan came in the mail late last week to round out our 50 states and the District of Columbia. We even had people excited enough about our project to even send from a few other countries!

Thank you to everyone who contributed to our project. We definitely have learned more about our country than we did before. There's even a Rolla, North Dakota! I realized how many wonderful friends and family I have that are willing to hunt for a post card to send to us and how stretched across the country that you are all! For those who I was so bold as to ask for a specific state, thank you for obliging!

Somewhere around the beginning of June, the boys stopped being interested in the record keeping of how many we received in a day and if we knew the person or now so we just marked our map. This afternoon I think that we'll check it to see if we have all our hash marks on there. As of right now, the most that we received from any one state is 4. Those states that we received four from were Montana, Hawaii (which was a late showing), Texas, Virginia and Washington, D.C. For being a very populous state, we only received one card from California! We did get quite a few from people we don't know which I think is fun!

Thanks again for helping us with our project. The boys loved getting mail. Next year we will be doing the first year of a two year study of world history who knows what I'll ask of you for that...pictures of people in togas?
